Take note of the wines the Pope himself drinks with his supper of courgette flan, asparagus risotto, roast beef, zabaglione and fruit. Incidentally, each bottle costs somewhere in the region of 5-6 thousand roubles.

🥂The dry white wine is a Vermentino from Tenuta Guado al Tasso, made by one of the most famous wine-making families of Italy, the Marchesi Antinori, who have worked with wine since 1385 and are now in their 25th generation.

🍷The red chosen was a Ripasso della Valpolicella from Cantina Aldegheri, in Valpolicella, a small region of exceptional vineyards in the Veneto. The soft, rich Ripasso served to the Pope and the cardinals is precisely one of the two cult wines of that region. The Cantina Aldegheri winery is not so ancient and is distinguished by a more dynamic approach.

🍾The sparkling wine for the toast to the new Pope was an entirely Italian Trentodoc Blanc de Blancs, aged for 30 months, from the centuries-old Italian maker of classic sparkling wines Ferrari Spumante, which, despite the name, has nothing whatever to do with racing cars.
