Faina Ranevskaya saw Stanislavsky in the street and greeted him with delight
Faina Ranevskaya recalled meeting Stanislavsky near his house as she was crossing Leontyevsky Lane.
Stanislavsky was riding in a cab, and on seeing him Ranevskaya began to jump up and down, crying “my boy! my boy!” Faina Georgievna and Konstantin Sergeyevich were 33 years apart in age, yet to her he was a boy. Though she never studied under Stanislavsky, Ranevskaya went on calling him her teacher for many years afterwards, so much had she seen of him, observed him, hung on his words and admired him.
Catching sight of Ranevskaya hopping about on the pavement, Stanislavsky turned his back to the cabman, laughed, waved to her, and sent her air kisses and greetings.
She was so overwhelmed by the encounter that she took to her bed from emotion and remained in that state for several days.
Natalya Krymova put it well: to make Stanislavsky laugh is happiness.
