The Jewish Museum and Tolerance Centre is launching “Managing Turbulence”, a project to help people cope with stress. What is it? Open training sessions for adults and an evening lecture series.
I never thought I would find myself recommending anything with the word “training” in its title. But in our times the list of topics is a very useful one: how to keep one’s composure and cope with stress; how to stay productive; how to learn to live amid uncertainty; how to preserve relationships when your opinions and those of the people around you are diametrically opposed; how to switch on critical thinking in a crisis, and so on.
The lecture series promises to examine the problem of finding the resources to overcome difficult circumstances in life, and of building one’s inner world and one’s surroundings under changing conditions.
The first conversation, on the search for the meaning of life in difficult situations, will take place as early as 12 April.
