Should any boyar, okolnichy, Duma man, clerk (dyak), or other judge, whether for bribes, for friendship, or for enmity, convict the innocent plaintiff or defendant and acquit the guilty, and the matter be proven true, then from such judges the plaintiff's

Should any boyar, okolnichy, Duma man, clerk (dyak), or other judge, whether for bribes, for friendship, or for enmity, convict the innocent plaintiff or defendant and acquit the guilty, and the matter be proven true, then from such judges the plaintiff's claim shall be recovered threefold and given to the plaintiff; and the fees, the costs of review and the "right tithe" shall be levied from those same judges for the Sovereign.
And for the same offence the boyar, the okolnichy and the Duma man shall be stripped of honour.
And should any judge commit such injustice who is not of the Duma men, he shall be subjected to the market punishment (the knout in the marketplace), and henceforth he shall not sit in any case.
