Hastings plans a contemporary art gallery that can be viewed on skis
Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings, whose fortune is estimated at $4.7 billion, is to open an art gallery right on a ski slope, at the 3,433-hectare Powder Mountain resort in Eden, Utah, which he recently acquired.
It is planned that the pictures may be viewed without taking off one's skis, quite literally in the midst of a slalom. This would make it the world's first art museum on skis, and the 30 seconds that the average visitor is said to devote to a single work of art will, it seems, be reduced tenfold and more.
Hastings plans to exhibit in the new gallery works by James Turrell, Nancy Holt, Jenny Holzer and other contemporary artists. In summer and autumn, access for tourists will be free
