Concluding the conference "The History of Charity and Patronage in Moscow", the Ivan Betskoy Foundation held a reception in honour of Patron and Philanthropist Day

If the conference itself was given over to discussions of the activities of patrons, the formation of museum collections and trusteeship in education and healthcare, the evening, with neoclassical compositions performed by the Force Of Music ensemble and masterpieces of Russian and foreign song classics sung by the Logos choir, was devoted to the projects of the foundation and to the memory of Ivan Ivanovich Betskoy and other outstanding Russian patrons.

Over the nine decades of his life, the name of Ivan Betskoy, a prominent humanitarian figure of the eighteenth century, came to be associated chiefly with charity, education and good works, which laid a generous foundation for the patrons and philanthropists of later generations throughout the country. It is, on the whole, quite logical that the Foundation for Historical, Cultural and Educational Initiatives bears the glorious name of Ivan Betskoy.
