A whole cartload of letters about the Moon in various public places arrived over the weekend

A whole cartload of letters about the Moon in various public places arrived over the weekend. Here, for instance, is a colossal Moon at the celebration of the 90th anniversary of Gorky Park in Moscow. In Milan it was a public swimming pool. The seven-metre sphere also shone in Saint Petersburg's Annenkirche, so that services and ceremonies were held beneath the Moon. There was the Museum of Science (nauki) in London, the Glastonbury festival, the Bristol canal, a railway wagon-works (vokzal) in Lille, an Olympic swimming pool in Beijing, the ruined Tintern Abbey, the University of Bristol and many other distinguished places. I am not sure, however, that the Moon shown in Russia is an original by Luke Jerram; his website makes no mention of it. But all the same, it is awfully good to know that in the world of enlightenment there is room for a joke
