Artist Vladimir Chernyshev to install a sundial in the courtyard of the Museum of Moscow

A huge sundial with a curved metal gnomon and a dark round dial with Roman numerals in the courtyard of the Museum of Moscow.

A vast sundial is to be installed in the inner courtyard of the Museum of Moscow by the weekend. The gnomon is of metal, the dial of tarmac.

The author of the installation is the artist Vladimir Chernyshev. I shall not venture into the finer points of what this piece of public art is meant to express, but the sundial will, I can report, actually tell the time.
