Le Touquet-Paris-Plage airport to be named after Elizabeth II with Charles III's consent
France is to name an airport after Elizabeth II. The proposal to rename the airport in the small town of Le Touquet-Paris-Plage on the shore of the Channel was sent by the town authorities to Buckingham Palace soon after the Queen's death. And at last Charles III has replied in the affirmative. Henceforth the seaside town will be linked with England not only by the fact that one could ship one's car over here for a tour of Europe, but also by the name of Queen Elizabeth II on the façade of one of the sleepiest transport hubs in France. Commenting on the decision, Macron addressed the English: “For you she was your Queen, for us she was the Queen!”
