Women's Political Clubs in France in the 1790s and Their Activities
In 1790s France, more than 50 women's clubs were active, in which members could discuss politics and speak on matters of public importance. The revolutionary women's club met twice a week to read out the minutes of the sittings of the national congress and to discuss new decrees.
