Compressed car by César Baldaccini and anti-form by Vasily Kononov-Gredin
An Evening Dialogue of the Arts: Two Works of Art Made from a Mercedes Car Body.
The first is a sculpture by César Baldaccini, or simply César, created by the method of compression: the French sculptor simply placed a car from a scrapyard into a hydraulic press, and then signed the compressed parallelepiped.
The second is a work by the Russian artist Vasily Kononov-Gredin, styled an anti-form, produced by reassembling a car with the potential possibility of taking this construction apart once more and putting the car back together.
