The daughters of King Christian IX of Denmark, the eldest, Alexandra of Denmark, and the middle one, Maria Feodorovna, were born three years apart. Both married at the same age, both to heirs of the greatest empires, and both lived to the age of 80.
Alexandra of Denmark's son, King George V of England, was a first cousin of Maria Feodorovna's son, Nicholas II, Emperor of All Russia.
