September Will Bring an Edition of The Hobbit with Tolkien's Own Illustrations

In September an edition of The Hobbit with Tolkien's own illustrations will be published. It is the first edition to include an expanded selection of the author's own sketches: the book will contain more than 50 drawings, studies, maps, manuscript pages and paintings by J. R. R. Tolkien himself. Some of them were printed in the first edition of The Hobbit of 21 September 1937, and some have appeared in other editions over the past 85 years. But most of the colour images will illustrate for the first time the story of Bilbo Baggins's unexpected journey there and back again. A pre-order is already available for the print edition, from $67.5, and for the electronic version, at $27.99.
