Italy puts on sale 15th-century house in Palazzo Felicini where Leonardo da Vinci lived
An Italian house where Leonardo da Vinci once lived is up for sale. The building is currently owned by a former Italian footballer.
The residence in Emilia dates from the 15th century and forms part of the Palazzo Felisini. Da Vinci lived here after moving to Bologna with his patron Giuliano de' Medici around 1515. It was here that Leonardo met the French king Francis I, who invited him to move to France.
The 620-metre house stands on the foundations of an earlier building constructed by the architect Aristotele Fioravanti. The very same Italian builder who raised the Dormition Cathedral in the Moscow Kremlin.
The estimated value of the historic property is 3.2 million euros.
