Klaus Mann foresaw catastrophe in Germany in “Mephisto”, published in 1936
The horror awaiting Germany was foretold by Klaus Mann as early as 1936, in "Mephisto". He puts the following warning into the mouth of one of the principal characters, the strange writer Theophil Marder: "The worst will come to pass. Remember me, children, when that day arrives. I foresaw it and I predicted it. I felt the catastrophe approaching. Our age is corrupt."
