Thousands of hours have gone into the study of the Shroud: professionals from a variety of fields have examined the tiniest particles of pollen, microscopic fragments of stone, the details of photographs and X-rays of the cloth, its weave and much else besides.

This is not the first study to confirm the conclusion that the cloth is authentic and originates from Jerusalem around the 1st century AD.

Tristan Casabianca, an atheist researcher who once carried out studies into the authenticity of the Shroud of Turin, later converted to Catholicism, and the Shroud played an important part in his conversion.
