Third supermoon of the year on 17 October and traditional names of the Moon

A Moon such as tonight's was called by the American Indians the Moon of Dying Grass. The European tradition, for its part, has kept the name of the Hunter's Moon, since by its light game could be spotted with ease even at night.

This is the third of the year's four supermoons. Today the Moon has come closest to the Earth. So on 17 October, in the night into 18 October and for two nights more, it will shine in the sky with extraordinary brilliance. These days, incidentally, the luminary stands in the constellation of Pisces.

If you have not yet seen the beauty, at least glance out of the window
