Today on the Historic Stage of the Bolshoi Theatre: the premiere of the revised version of Rodion Shchedrin's ballet "The Little Humpbacked Horse", after the fairy tale of the same name by Pyotr Yershov
The ballet "The Little Humpbacked Horse" was first staged in 1864 on the stage of the Imperial Theatre in Saint Petersburg. The production was subsequently revived many times at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow over the years. In 1960 came the premiere of a new version of the ballet, written by Rodion Shchedrin, which was highly praised by audiences and critics alike. In 1999 Shchedrin created yet another version of the ballet.
