The Russian Museum shows the third exhibition devoted to the Leporskaya archive in the Mikhailovsky Castle

The Leporskaya archive is one of the most significant collections relating to the post-revolutionary history of the Russian avant-garde, the circle of Kazimir Malevich and the work of the leading pupils of the Malevich school, Ilya Chashnik (1902–1929) and Nikolai Suetin (1897–1954). The artist Anna Leporskaya (1900–1982) was Malevich's secretary and the wife of N. Suetin. Over many years she gathered and preserved drawings, sketches, diagrams, studies and documents connected with Suprematism and the birth of Soviet design, with the research work of Chashnik and Suetin, and with Suetin's work as chief artist of the Leningrad Porcelain Factory, together with many other valuable artefacts and testimonies. The collection includes not only the legacy of Malevich and Suetin but also the collection of the Chashnik family, which became related to the Suetin family through the marriage of Nikolai Suetin's daughter Nina and Chashnik's son, Ilya Ilyich. By the will of N. N. Suetina, the Leporskaya archive was transferred to the Russian Museum in 2017.

Besides numerous documents, the exhibition, which runs until 15 May, offers a number of previously unknown drawings by Chashnik and Suetin, works by the pioneers of Suprematism, genuine porcelain with Suprematist decoration, and objects of decorative and applied art and paintings from the Russian Museum and private collections.
