I happened to notice that the waiting room of my dental clinic is hung with limited-edition prints by Mikhail Shemyakin. Yes, they are not cheap, and they show that money was put into the interior. But why Shemyakin, of all artists? To put it mildly, few people come to the dentist light of heart: usually they arrive burdened if not by the aunt of toothache, then by a foreboding of procedures of the less agreeable kind, and on top of all this they are now made to look at the pictures of one of the most frightening Russian artists
