A power-station worker in Israel amassed an impressive collection of antiquities washed up on the shore

From 1971 he collected metal objects that he came across at work. After his death, his relatives invited staff from an archaeology museum to make sense of the collection. It must be said that the assembled finds proved interesting not only from the layman's point of view.

There are objects of the Early Bronze Age more than four thousand years old, evidence of the first Arab trade, weapons from warships, working mortars and pistols, as well as household utensils such as mortars and pestles and threshing tools.

Among the treasures of the Jew from the power station is a Crusader hand grenade, which is what caught the attention of the media. Explosive ground, what can one say, tried and tested over the millennia.
