Our stroll through the Oceanographic Museum of Monaco continues. In the frame: equipment for exploring the seabed and taking soil samples, along with preserved marine fauna from the time of the museum's founder, Prince Albert I, who, after service in the French navy, devoted his leisure to a passion for the ocean. Albert took part in 28 expeditions across the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea and invented a great many scientific instruments for studying ocean life. He described his discoveries, expeditions and sea voyages in his book "The Career of a Navigator". The map of the ocean he devised remained in use until 1944. What a pity that the age of romantic aristocrats, devoted to the genuine service of great ideals, has passed
