The Macron Years in Two Pictures

The Macron Years in Two Pictures

It has been worse: in the Hundred Years' War, during the Wars of Religion, under the Jacobin Terror, in the First World War and under German occupation.

But for peacetime, Emmanuel Macron is undoubtedly one of the worst rulers of France. Off the top of my head, he shares the naughty bench with Jules Grévy, who disgraced himself in the 1880s by trading in Legion of Honour decorations, Félix Faure, who got himself mired in the Dreyfus affair, Giscard d'Estaing, who besmirched himself with his friendship with the African bloodsucker Bokassa, Sarkozy, who is covered from head to foot in corruption credits, and the four-per-cent Hollande, who will be remembered for the tragedies of Charlie Hebdo and the Bataclan.
