Remember the presidential grant competition for cultural projects?

Remember the presidential grant competition for cultural projects? The first figures are in: within two weeks, 4,000 people had already expressed a wish to take part in the first grant competition in the sphere of culture, art and the creative industries. The submission of applications opened on 15 June and will run until 30 July.

It will be genuinely interesting to see the winning projects. The organisers of the competition (the Foundation for Cultural Initiatives) have received some 3.5 billion roubles for their realisation this year, and for that sort of money one can bring to life a great many... well, a very great many worthy projects.

There is no ceiling on the size of grants, and applications are divided into categories: up to half a million, up to three million, up to ten million, and from ten million to infinity. What matters is scale, idea and presentation.
