Demolition of the “Negotsiant” residential complex near the Patriarshy Bridge

The Patriarshy Bridge over the Drainage Canal is under reconstruction. To get from Bolotny Island to Yakimanskaya Embankment, one must use the Maly Kamenny Bridge or the bridge by the monument to Peter, which, as far as I know, has no name.

The elite residential complex "Negotiant" at the far end of the bridge, through which a staircase down to the embankment had been laid, and which had stood empty since the day it was built (with the price of a flat in it a mere billion roubles), has at last been finally demolished, leaving not a stone in memory of that unlovely offspring of wild capitalism.

It is curious that the demolished Negotiant is classed as Luzhkov-era architecture, traditionally regarded as hideous, although it was built a full four years after the end of Luzhkov's rule.
