Audiobooks “Vnutri ubiytsy” and “Slovo patsana” lead Bookmate’s winter statistics

Acquainted myself with Bookmate's statistics for the winter. Curiously, the chief audiobooks of Yandex Plus's book service turned out to be «Inside the Killer» and «The Word of the Boy». Both books have been made into popular television series. And if the novel «Inside the Killer» by Mike Omer leads the category of fiction, then «The Word of the Boy. Criminal Tatarstan of the 1970s-2010s» by Robert Garaev leads in non-fiction. On the whole, of «fiction» it was chiefly thrillers and detective stories that enjoyed demand over the winter.

Besides Mike Omer, the fiction top includes two books from the dystopian series «Luna 84» by Islam Khanipaev and the now classic «Shantaram» by Gregory Roberts. In popular science, apart from criminal showdowns, the leaders are the biological popular-science title «The Gene Odyssey» by Evelyn Eyer and the celebrated «The Art of War» by Sun Tzu.

Naturally, books on psychology, business and self-improvement have lost none of their relevance: they make up half of the top ten. Incidentally, 80% of Bookmate users have at least once chosen the audio format for making acquaintance with literature.
