Baritone Fouger sang Papageno at 74 and kept performing after the age of 80

To my mind, Papageno looks far more striking in the flesh. Do you agree?

PS The legendary baritone Fugère (Fugère) sang this role at the age of 74, though from the photograph he would not pass for a day over 50. He went on appearing on stage into his eighties, and even took on new roles at that age, telling journalists: if a man is not to sing at his best around the age of 83, then when, pray, is he?
