A Cosy Exhibition, as Ever at Lobby Moscow, Has Opened: Artem Lyapin, Artist of the Flor et Lavr Gallery
A cosy exhibition, as is always the case at Lobby Moscow, has opened: the work of Artem Lyapin, an artist of the Flor et Lavr gallery. The show is called “I Think This Love Will Last Forever”.
Artem works with metal, textiles and painting, and uses such techniques as cyanotype, carpet weaving and lace-making.
All of Artem's subjects and characters are fairy-tale ones. Here is an enchanted sword, and there a dragon beside an impregnable tower. Lyapin has turned ordinary napkins into works of art, on which lace characters from fantasy have appeared.
At present Artem is concentrating on research into Siberian traditions and folklore. He defines his own genre as folk art brut.
