One of the pearls of Lake Garda is the Villa Guarienti-Brenzone, dating from the early sixteenth century and designed by Michele Sanmicheli, an architect of the twilight of the High Renaissance. The villa's main façade faces the lake and offers one of the finest views along the whole shoreline.
Together with the peninsula on which it stands, the villa belongs to the Counts Guarienti-Brenzone, descendants of two eminent figures of the Renaissance.
The venerable arcaded building stands amid a lush garden filled with marble statues and neoclassical tombstones. A church adjoins the villa.
The main building is now a hotel. Over five centuries many famous and distinguished people have stayed here, among them the future Emperor Alexander II.
A dream for the near future
