One of Vivienne Westwood's most important collections, Harris Tweed, Autumn-Winter 1987/88, was inspired by images of the royal family, British motifs and historical details, and featured traditional woollen fabrics, black velvet and elements of eighteenth-century corsetry. Ironic and mocking of the aristocratic way of life, the collection caused a sensation. The very next year Vivienne would be named one of the six most influential designers, alongside Lagerfeld, Saint Laurent, Ungaro, Lacroix and Armani. A black crown of velvet and faux fur from this collection is today worth about 7,000 dollars
