It cannot but please that with each passing year cultural initiatives receive ever more institutional support, and that membership of specialist communities is becoming prestigious among the young. This year the annual Russian Creative Awards, to be held tomorrow, has added a special category for young figures in culture, the arts and the creative industries: it was established jointly with the «Tavrida» art cluster.

Entries are divided among five creative fields, and the shortlist includes 15 nominees. I remember perfectly well how thrilling that feeling is: a contest, a competition, a thematic olympiad, and the wait to see whether your talents and achievements will be duly appreciated. So I want to support these young people and tell you of their successes:

Theatre: Dzhemma Avetisyan, Daniil Vetoshkin and Maria Tikhonova.

Music: Oleg Sidorov and Anastasia Belyavskaya (the duo NANSI & SIDOROV), Zhenya Trofimov (the group Komnata kultury), Vyacheslav Martyushov (the rock band TRITIA).

Screenwriters: Irina Pirozhkova, Yegor Yefimov, Nikolai Shishkin.

Cinema: Alexei Yuzhakov, Darya Kukarskikh, Vladimir Dolzhenkov.

Fine art: Alexandra Fedosova, Alexei Apish, Tatiana Makarova.

Whoever is chosen as the winner, you have all done splendidly. Keep it up!
