Fundraising to open a Gumilev family museum in Bezhetsk, Tver Region
A campaign is under way on Planeta to raise funds for opening a museum of the Gumilev family in the town of Bezhetsk, in the Tver Region. The project is run by the Foundation for the Development of Small Historic Towns, and so far less than 250 thousand of the 350 required has been collected: pennies compared with the six-figure sums at which the junk mineral museums are valued, along with rare crisps bearing the silhouettes of cartoon characters. The museum is to open in the house where Lev Gumilev lived as a child with his grandmother, and which was visited by Anna Akhmatova and Nikolay Gumilev. A good and important cause, so let us help together! The collection is based on the holdings of the Gumilev Society.
