A Memorial Plaque to Iosif Kobzon Has Appeared on One of the Buildings of the Gnessin Institute of Music and Pedagogy
A memorial plaque to Iosif Kobzon has appeared on one of the buildings of the Gnessin Institute of Music and Pedagogy. I pass the music salon of the Shuvalova house, which is now the correct name for this building, almost every day, and yet I am seeing the commemorative plaque to Kobzon for the first time. It must have been unveiled not so very long ago. It states that Kobzon worked here from 1985 to 1997, that is, when the late nineteenth-century interiors of the house-owner Okhotnikov, and later of Count Shuvalov, already housed a chamber concert hall, while until the end of the 1970s the Gnessin seven-year music school was here, which was later dispatched to Fili Park
