Delightful works by the Vietnamese-French artist Mai Trung Thu (1906-1980)

Delightful works by the Vietnamese-French artist Mai Trung Thu (1906-1980). All the works shown here were created in the 1950s and are devoted to scenes from the lives of women: their toilette and their care of children, with the everyday world of childhood.

Mai Trung Thu was a graduate of the first entering class of the School of Fine Arts of Indochina in Hanoi, and lived and worked chiefly in France.

Mai Trung Thu worked in the technique of painting on silk with gouache and ink, rubbing in the colours and laying them on in a solid layer.
