Context: Dalí made this remark after Franco, in 1975, had executed three members of the Anti-Fascist Patriotic Revolutionary Front and two members of the organisation Free Basque Country, all of them branded terrorists. Protests against the Spanish government broke out in many countries, and Spain's membership of the UN was thrown into question.
