The first scenes of the film were shot back in March, in London, at Claridge's Hotel, where the prince was born in 1945. By the time of the birth of Alexander Karageorgevich, the only son of Peter II, the last King of Yugoslavia, the British prime minister of the day, Churchill, had proclaimed suite 212 of Claridge's Hotel in London to be Yugoslav territory, so that the heir to the Yugoslav throne was born in London, yet in Yugoslavia: under Yugoslav law, the heirs of the royal family had a right to the throne only if they were born on the territory of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia.
