At the height of the pandemic, the Garage Museum of Contemporary Art invited artists to reflect on the future, and the result is a large exhibition, "Choosing Distance: Speculations, Fakes, Forecasts in the Age of the Coronacene". The artists have made sense of the new, ambiguous reality in 33 ironic projects, while Garage's exhibition space itself has turned into a playing field, as in an arcade. Two hundred thousand years ago (give or take) I prepared an account of a stroll through this exhibition, and now, at last, the text has been published in a new media outlet about art.
