Works by Vasnetsov, Bryullov and Repin in Dumbledore's Office at Hogwarts

As everyone knows, the portraits of Hogwarts' former headmasters, famous wizards and other eminent figures of the magical world hang in Dumbledore's office. But look closely, and among these sorcerers you will find Ivan the Terrible, as painted by Vasnetsov. Nor is that the only discovery the enchanted portrait gallery has to offer. A little above Ivan Vasilyevich hangs Bryullov's portrait of Nestor Kukolnik, author of Russian romances. At the very bottom of the same row is another work by Bryullov, the portrait of the archaeologist Michelangelo Lanci. On the opposite wall sits Ilya Repin's wife in a Koll cap, and to the left of her, a protodeacon from Repin's brush.

And although none of these persons is mentioned in the books as a sorcerer, their look suits the ancient magical walls of Hogwarts perfectly well. Incidentally, all of the canvases listed are in the collection of the Tretyakov Gallery.
