Among my plans for the near future: seeing Alejandro Amenábar's new film about my beloved Cervantes

Julio Peña plays Miguel de Cervantes. The action unfolds in 1575, and the narrative draws on the real biography of the author of Don Quixote.

As attentive readers will remember, many years before he wrote the greatest novel of all time, Cervantes was a captive of Algerian pirates. Saavedra recounts part of the story of that captivity in Don Quixote, and it is this episode, and this period of his life, that Amenábar's film is devoted to.

For the first time in several years, I can hardly wait to see a film.

I shall certainly share my impressions and write a review. We remain in touch.
