Pope Francis did not celebrate Divine Mercy Mass in the Vatican because of knee pain

From Vatican news: Pope Francis did not celebrate today's scheduled Divine Mercy Sunday Mass in Saint Peter's Basilica; Archbishop Fisichella celebrated it in his stead. The Pope attended the service seated in an armchair. The change was occasioned by the pain in Francis I's knee, which has worsened in recent days. The Pope reported inflammation of the ligaments of his right knee as long ago as January, and of late the knee has obliged the pontiff to alter his plans ever more often: because of the pain, he has taken to climbing fewer stairs, standing less and moving about less.
