A study by a community organisation based in Durham shows that over the past 10 years the Church of England has stopped using the word church for its new parishes, preferring words such as community or congregation. According to the findings, not one of the churches opened in England in that period has the word "church" in its main description. The researchers explain the trend by saying that, without the word church, religious institutions sound more up to date and may attract more people.
And do you know what else may attract more people? Drinking dens, casinos and brothels. Recall the cathedral in San Francisco converted into a yoga studio (that is, into an Indian sect), as well as into a dance hall for transvestites and a place of entertainment.
If the winding-down of the Christian project in the West continues at this accelerated pace, quite soon, perhaps, they will abandon such outdated words as "England" too, so that the name of the country may better correspond to its content and direction of travel
