The Fundamental Library of INION RAS has opened trial access to the largest archive of digitised Chinese newspapers, the Contemporary Chinese Newspaper Full-Text Database, to a reprint database of the social sciences, and to Artron, with its albums and images on art. Until 30 June all of this may be studied in the reading rooms on Nakhimovsky Prospekt; one need only register and bring a passport. In April INION also opened centralised access to JSTOR (1769–2025), having previously connected the CNKI database with its millions of Chinese scholarly articles. Russian researchers now have access to Chinese periodicals on a scale beyond the reach of most European universities
