Back in my postgraduate days I noted with vexation that the overwhelming majority of Moscow museums did not count a postgraduate card as a student one, and not only denied free entry (although one would think that a history faculty should be able to visit at least the historical museums freely) but did not even offer a discount on tickets. I consider this a great failing on the part of both the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Education: students of the relevant universities need the freedom to visit museums no less than museum employees do. After all, not every university has museums of its own, as RGGU and MSU do, for example.
