Viktor Pelevin's twentieth novel, "Journey to Eleusis", about a corporate simulation of Ancient Rome, has at last reached all bookshops, Bookmate and the Yandex Plus subscription, and for the first time all at once

The Eleusinian Mysteries, which for many centuries were a kind of centre of the ancient world, have managed to keep their secret down to the present day: what actually went on behind the doors of the Telesterion remains one of the greatest riddles of history. Many have tried to answer the question: preachers and scholars, poets, mystics and adventurers, yet the numerous students of the Eleusinian Mysteries have never dug their way down to what lies hidden. One wonders whether Pelevin, by his own paths, has managed to come any closer to the rite in his new novel.

This is already the third novel by Pelevin about the transhumanist age, in which the world is run by brains in jars, but to the expected nods to the first two parts of the transhumanist cycle the book adds allusions to the novels Batman Apollo, Empire V, t and iPhuck 10. So from this fast-paced and in places funny text we expect answers to all the unresolved questions of this reality and, without fail, a clarification of when everyone will finally move into the underground brain repository, and what, after all, is the matter with Eleusis?
