Friends!
Friends! I invite you to the private view of Maxim Boxer's exhibition A Collector's Dream at the In Artibus foundation. Max is in the photograph and sends his regards; he kindly answered a few simple questions by way of a first introduction to his collection.
The number of works is hard to state precisely: there are 150 labels, and many works are shown without labels.
The earliest exhibit is dated to the 17th century: an unknown Dutch painter's «In the Tavern», oil on panel. The latest is from 2020, for example a work by the young artist Polina Kovaleva.
The display is divided into four parts: the contemporary, works on paper, the French, and the motor, the heart of the display.
Asked which works are his favourites, Maxim wittily replies: all of them are here, for the exhibition is, after all, a Collector's Dream.
