The display consists of manuscripts, codices, printed books and a great many works of art, showing the connection between the different arts between the fourteenth and sixteenth centuries. Engravings, sculptures, paintings, coins, drawings and texts by the masters of the Renaissance and celebrated humanists show how the Renaissance shaped the contours of Western thought, science, art and literature, which, without exaggeration, became the foundation of modern Western, that is, global, civilisation
