Despite the similarity of name, the Orthodox feast glorifying All Saints, and sanctity itself, has no cultural kinship with Halloween, which is also styled All Saints' Day.
On All Saints' Day it is of course the custom to remember in prayer all the servants of God, solemnly and penitently singing the ideals of holiness, and not to dress up in masquerade disguises and arrange nocturnal amusements under the emblems of death.
In the Orthodox Church All Saints' Day is kept on the first Sunday after Trinity, that is, in summer, in the week after the fiftieth day from Easter
