Damien Hirst compared a certificate for a future sculpture to futures trading
Damien Hirst Speaks of His "Posthumous Drawings" Project: Instructions for Making Works of Art That Can Be Produced and Sold in His Name After the Artist's Death.
"The idea is to have a certificate saying: 'First year after Damien's death: you have the right to make this sculpture, and you can trade the certificate until it is made,'"
Hirst explained.
Hirst likened his concept to futures trading, where the buyer acquires not a finished product but the right to receive it at some point in the future.
They have clearly run out of pretexts for prising money out of people.
