I almost forgot to share pictures from the new open storage display at the Garage Museum
Little by little we are learning what exactly one of the finest collections of contemporary art in the country looks like. There is much that one will not see in the New Tretyakov, for instance. It is worth going if only because, when the display is changed, the exhibits will vanish from view for who knows how long.
I remember the time when Garage showed foreign artists and mounted large exhibition projects, and I realise that at present it is no worse at all: the level of the works, the level of the artists and the curatorial decisions alike.
