Saint Yutvara, slandered by her stepmother and beheaded by Bana, and Herber Monastery

The British martyr Saint Utvara fell victim to the treachery of her stepmother. After her father's death the pious girl continued to lead a righteous life, fasting and giving alms. One day her breast began to ache, and her stepmother advised her to apply soft cheese to it, while telling her own son that Utvara had a secret child, the proof being a blouse stained with milk. Whereupon the young man, named Bana, struck off the girl's head, but she did not die: she picked up her head and carried it to the church. A spring burst forth on the spot where the head was severed, and Bana repented, became a monk and founded the Gerber Monastery
